about

You know those flyers that say:

"SEX! SEX! SEX!
(Now that I have your attention...)"

That's basically what the title is, a cheap gimmick to get your attention. The song itself isn't really even about fellatio or any kind of sex at all. The Fellatio Song is actually about live music scenes. Specifically, music scenes that are full of bad bands and bad people.

Music is an industry built on exploitation, the promise of transcendent thrills and the inevitable failure to live up to expectations. That's what the song is about. "It don't mean a thing, so take it slow" could be the jaded fan's attitude toward anything new and challenging, a band's reaction to swift success, a label's general attitude toward the musicians who make them money.

I'm rambling again. This is the A side of The Sexual Deviance Record. Lenny Gitlin again let us borrow his Realistic MG-1. I guess I forgot exactly how much synth there was in this band pre-diaspora.

One of the true joys of being in treysuno is knowing that we were the soundtrack to some of the best years of the lives of a couple dozen people. Who needs a stadium tour when you can make a deeply personal connection like that? ... more
