about

This song was named after a town in Michigan that I passed on my way to the recording studio where I was working. I'm pretty sure they pronounce it suh-LEEN though. This song is not about that town, I just liked the word.

The song is actually about a friend of mine whose boyfriend (who was also a friend of mine) was treating her like shit in the waning days of their relationship. This is one of those songs that sounds smart, but really isn't. The only lyric in this song that I like is "can't fake a revolution to hide your shattered feelings," which I wrote because the guy felt he had to pick up with a new subculture after the breakup so he could distance himself from the girl. The rest of this is standard college rock trash.

We really Billy Corgan-ed up the guitars here. I think there are 4 or 5 guitar tracks going during the solo. Worst part is I didn't chart any of it out, so I think at some point I switch from one part to another. It's thick enough that I think I get away with it.

lyrics

You're not one to look away just before the trains collide. In truth versus naivete, it's a simple task to choose a side. When the wreck occurs, there'll be no doubt. When he speaks in slurs, he'll spit it out. Signals in the smoke leapt to point toward the same scene. Dirty little secrets kept behind a flowing golden sheen. Sedition lurked while she slept but never acted so mean. Laughter swelled while she wept, drowning in the saline. Brace for a revelation in the shadow of misdealings. You can't fake a revolution to hide your shattered feelings. He accepts his sin and does not pout. If he can't fit in, he'll be left out. Here's my two cents that I won't count. If it won't don't make sense, well, throw it out.

about

treysuno Bowling Green, Ohio

It's exceptionally rare that a rock band affects the lives of people. Most of the time they're just background noise, easily dismissed and happily forgotten. One of the true joys of being in treysuno is knowing that we were the soundtrack to some of the best years of the lives of a couple dozen people. Who needs a stadium tour when you can make a deeply personal connection like that? ... more
