about

The main riff here dates back to 2007 or 2008, somewhere in the dissolving of treysuno/formation of Speed Governor time. Pretty sure I wrote this at my desk one night when I was working late making sure that Barack Obama had enough yard signs or something, recorded it on my Blackberry (it was 2007, right?) and stuck it in my pocket until I had a use for it. I'm sure Speed Governor messed around with this for a minute but nothing ever came of it. Then treysuno got back together for our second reunion show in November of 2017 and that seemed like as good a reason as any to dust off this old chestnut.

J.D. just absolutely brings the fire on this, especially the little snare hitch in the verses and what I assume are 256th notes in the bridge. Damn that's hot.

Most of the songs on this EP have something to do with how the easy proliferation of propaganda via cable news, social media, etc. has weaponized people against each other in service of the agenda of the powerful elite. Not exactly couching any hidden meaning here. Sometimes you just have to say it.

The title is a reference to an Archers of Loaf song, but not the one you're thinking of.

lyrics

I can sense exasperation with your standing in the world. There's no need for reservation, just agree to heed my words. We decide what the truth is now. You can have your mind made up. We decide what the truth is now. Let your anger service us. Make you our evangelist for the wars that we must win. Share with you the master list of whom to punish for their sins.

about

treysuno Bowling Green, Ohio

It's exceptionally rare that a rock band affects the lives of people. Most of the time they're just background noise, easily dismissed and happily forgotten. One of the true joys of being in treysuno is knowing that we were the soundtrack to some of the best years of the lives of a couple dozen people. Who needs a stadium tour when you can make a deeply personal connection like that? ... more
